Home Assistant Nest is a personal integration operated by the household Home Assistant administrator. This policy describes this household integration and its public information website.
Information accessed
With your Google authorization, the integration accesses the home and room names, postal code, device identifiers and information, thermostat settings, temperature setpoints, temperature and humidity readings, and device events made available for the devices you select. OAuth credentials and tokens allow the integration to maintain that authorized connection.
How information is used
Information is used to display and control authorized thermostats in Home Assistant and support household automations configured by its users. The Google Cloud Pub/Sub permission is used to configure and receive device event messages.
Storage and access
Home Assistant stores integration credentials and configuration on the household's server. Device state history may be retained in its database and backups according to the administrator's settings. Authorized Home Assistant users and the household administrator may access information according to their permissions. Google processes API requests, authorization, and Pub/Sub messages as part of providing its services.
Sharing and limited use
The integration does not sell Google user data or use it for advertising. Data is exchanged with Google services and the household Home Assistant installation to provide the authorized features. Google user data is not published on this website. Its use is limited to the disclosed home automation functions, security and troubleshooting, and applicable legal requirements.
Use of information received from Google APIs will comply with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Retention and deletion
Connection credentials are retained while the integration is configured. You can revoke access through Google Account connections and ask the household administrator to remove the Nest integration from Home Assistant. Removing the connection stops future access; existing history, logs, and backups may remain until they are purged or expire under the server's settings. Contact the administrator to request removal of retained data, including backup copies.
Website requests
This information website has no analytics scripts, advertising, forms, or sign-in. The web server and reverse proxy may process connection details, such as IP address, requested page, time, and browser information, for delivery and operational logging.
Your choices and contact
You choose which Nest devices to authorize. You may revoke that authorization at any time. For access, deletion, privacy questions, or changes to this policy, contact your household Home Assistant administrator through your existing private contact method. Any material change to how Google user data is used will be disclosed before that new use begins.
